Yep, you did read that right! I went to the Mamma Mia 2, ‘Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again’ World Premiere in London on Monday 16th July! A glamorous, star studded occasion where Mum and I got to walk the blue carpet and see the new film before its release.
I’ll go back first to how we actually got invited, Pierce Brosnan himself contacte… – only joking! Remember my RAF post, where we both went to the RAF Centenary celebrations, well the day before I met Mum from London Victoria Station and there was a stage set up Mamma Mia style. We took a photo there and had to upload it to Twitter or Instagram with #SummerMia, a few hours after I uploaded it I got a DM from Universal Pictures UK saying we had won a pair of tickets the WORLD PREMIERE! *Insert lots of screaming!*
We couldn’t believe it and it was only when we picked up the tickets the next day and held them in our hands in shock that we started to! Not only did we win tickets, but Mum also won a HUGE goodie bag of treats including flip-flops, a notebook, sunglasses, a tote bag and a beach towel! To say we had a good day is an understatement!
We could barely contain our excitement in the week prior to the Premiere but Monday came, I met Mum from the station again and we got ready to go! We both dressed up and put on our jewels and got to the Premiere for the opening time and ended up first in line. We’re so glad we did looking back as we got to stroll along the blue carpet and enjoy the experience whereas people who arrived later had to go straight inside the venue!
Plus, we had lots of fun star spotting through the venue doors as well as getting photographs with Richard Arnold and Jack Quickenden too (fyi they’re lovely!).
Little did we know that we would get an awful lot closer to these stars and the WHOLE cast when we got inside to watch the film.
I have to say, our seats were pretty awesome, we were in Row M so we were close to the front, but not too close and even though we were slightly off to the right our view was amazing and turns out we had probably some of the best seats… Before the movie started all the stars came onto the stage amidst screaming and cheering from us in the audience – not that they needed any introduction!
We cheered and clapped along until we realised they were walking off the stage RIGHT NEXT TO WHERE WE WERE SAT. I’m not even joking, we could have touched the cast, they walked right next to it and I captured Pierce Brosnan clapping and waving just for Mum! (If on the slim chance you’re reading, my Mum’s a huge fan!)

Don’t worry, I won’t spoil the plot of the film but I can confirm that it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We laughed just as much as the first one, if not a little more and the whole story line was executed perfectly! At the end of the film everyone got up to dance and sing along to the final credits as smoke machines and fireworks went off and confetti rained down from the ceiling! We even managed to grab an, albeit slightly blurry selfie, with Dominic Cooper at the end of the show!
It was the perfect way to celebrate and watch the film, I want to go again – thankfully it comes out tomorrow! We definitely had an even better time too because of all the lovely people we met that evening (looking at you Alison and Matt), the atmosphere was absolutely incredible!
The soundtrack of songs has already been released so why not have a listen to it to get you in the mood for the film! They’re all amazing too, I’m singing along to them right now! (Can you tell I’m at a loss for words?)
Thank you again to Universal Pictures UK for the tickets, Mum and I were dancing Queen’s the whole evening and we definitely had the time of our life! Make sure you let me know what you think of the film if you go and see it too!

This looks like such an amazing time! I have to admit, I have never even seen the first Mama Mia movie – I’m super behind on watching movies, I saw Alien (1979) for the first time last year haha.
It really was! Oh no way haha, you HAVE to watch it, it is amazing and I’m not just saying that! A real feel good film too! Well, I’ve never seen Alien either so you’ve beaten me there! x

What a great opportunity! As an ABBA fan, I’m torn on whether I want to see it – I heard they incorporated “Fernando” but how come neither movie is using, “Thank You for the Music?”
I’d say go for it, I loved this movie as have seen it twice and they actually incorporated the songs better in my opinion than the first one! I know, it is a shame but all the songs work amazingly!

I’ve been to see here we go again twice now in the past 24hrs (a little sad maybe😂) but I’m totally obsessed & definitely have some more cinema trips lined up to go see it this week!
