Bye, Bye, University! A Catch-Up!

Hey everyone! I’ll let the dust settle a moment before getting into this post as I’m well aware it’s been a while since I’ve sat down and written a post. I wanted to come on and give a little explanation and a heads up of what’s been going on in my life and what’s going to happen in the future. Let’s have a catch-up as I’ve now said bye, bye, University!

Where I’ve Been?

As many of you will know from my University series last summer, when I started my blog, I started my third year of University in September and well, now I’ve finished! Three years of studying has come to an end and after what feels like an endless amount of assignments and various bits of coursework which I devoted my time to, it’s all over! Forever… which is the weirdest thing to say ever!

Obviously I hadn’t worked for three years to fall at the final hurdle (ooh, flashback to my hurdling days) and therefore I had to put blogging to one side and focus on my work. I officially finished on the 13th May when I handed in (and struggled to let go of) my Creative Writing Major Project which I had been working on since the beginning of third year.

This project, as many of you may have seen from my Instagram and Twitter, was the equivalent of a traditional dissertation and it comprised of three children’s picture stories, one fully illustrated children’s picture book and a reflective essay detailing the creation of my entire project! I can’t share too much right now as obviously I am still waiting on my results, which is as terrifying as it sounds, but I’m excited to share it with you all in the future!

What Now?

You may be wondering, what am I doing now? Other than taking a well deserved break, I have been busy job hunting and preparing for my first few interviews which I am very nervous for. If I put it into perspective, the last job interview I went for I was dressed as an Elf and (badly) sang a song! I’m also in the process of packing up all my belongings from my flat and moving out so I’mΒ  sat surrounded by boxes! It feels weird to no longer be in University and be working non stop on assignments but I have Graduation to look forward to in July! I’ve also been doing some baking and painting which is very nice to be able to do without the pressures of coursework.

I hope this post gives you a little insight into where I’ve been, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth I promise! I’d love to continue the University series I started last year so if you have any questions about my experience over the last three years or anything related, please leave them in the comments below!

Thanks for reading!
