My Graduation In Pictures

Wow, I can’t quite believe that I graduated a month ago today! On 17th July, I finished University forever when I collected my degree certificate and had an unbelievable day celebrating with my family and friends. I never got round to writing a post all about my Graduation so I thought I would share it with you today and reflect on the incredible memories that were made.

The Graduation Ceremony:

The day itself startedΒ very early, my ceremony was at 10am and what with the checking in, collecting tickets and my Graduation gown, we ended up leaving the house at 5am to make sure we got there on time. Thankfully we did and it wasn’t long before we sat down in the auditorium, nerves building before it was my chance to walk on stage.

We were actually the very first cohort to walk across the stage and collect our certificates, talk about adding to the nerves! What made my Graduation even more special was that this year is the 125th year of my University, I chose a good year to start a degree!

It’s the Paparazzi!

It certainly seemed that way anyway! After the ceremony, everyone went outside to take photographs, I must say, all my friends looked incredible! I am so glad we took a ridiculous amount of photos too as I will keep those memories forever, I couldn’t have got through University without them either!

It does seem though, that I don’t do things by halves… As I hired my gown, it meant that I could keep it for the whole day, so naturally, I ran away in it! Mum, Dad, Eloise, Cameron and I, all went down the road to St Paul’s (my Graduation was held at the Barbican) to take some more celebration photographs, the mortar board air toss (which technically wasn’t allowed) looked very impressive with St Paul’s behind!

Afternoon Tea at Claridge’s:Β

As if my Graduation Day wasn’t already special enough, my parents made it even more memorable by taking me for Afternoon Tea at Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair! It. Was. Unreal.

With a glass of champagne in hand and the most delicious sandwiches, sweet treats and scones, we were treated like royalty. Our waiter kept replenishing our plates whenever we wanted and he made sure that we left with substantial food babies! The experience was made even more special when the desserts came and the waiter gave me an additional dessert, congratulating me on my Graduation; they asked us when we arrived what we were celebrating and surprised me!

Another Celebration!

What people may not know is that my degree course was special to the others graduating that day, as when I started in 2016, my course had only just started. My friends and I made up the first class of BA (Hons) English students at City, University of London and so this was the first Graduation for not only myself but my lecturers too!

All in all I had a pretty incredible day and it is certainly a day which I will never forget. I want to say an additional special thank you to my family, not only for all their support through my degree but also because I was surprised with beautiful bouquets of flowers from Mum, Dad, Eloise and Benjamin and another from Cameron!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and having a peek at some of the photographs, you can read my other University related posts here. How crazy is it that I officially have a degree?
