A Catch-Up: Third Year of University, Term One

You guessed it, I’ve just finished my first term of my third year of University. I have just one term left before I’m finished with uni for good!

It’s scary, isn’t it? This term seems to have gone so ridiculously quickly, I feel like I have only just managed to come up for air on some days. The first part of term one went very quick, we didn’t have any assignments due which is unusual as in my previous two years we have had at least a formative assignment due in that period.

It was unnaturally relaxing, in the sense that I for one worried that I had to be doing so much more than I actually was. Don’t get me wrong, I was still working, but I was working towards projects which I only handed in on the 8th, 9th and 10th weeks of the term. It would be silly of me to say too that I haven’t been busy. I’m juggling an awful lot behind the scenes which hopefully I will be able to share with you all soon. It hasn’t just been university work. I know, I know, that is possibly one of THE most annoying things I could say, but it’s true. I also celebrated my birthday which you may have seen a few posts agoΒ and was nominated for two UK Blog Awards, despite only blogging for just over 6 months!

An awful lot of my projects this term have been very creative based, which I love. I absolutely love being more creative in my work and it definitely is a nice relief from written essays but me being the perfectionist I am, means I naturally put so much more effort and time into these projects to make sure I am 100% happy. If I’m not well… Let’s not go there!

I have one assignment due on Monday, a re-writing of Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’, one due late January and then after that I will be starting my final term at University. To think that three years ago I didn’t even know what I wanted to do is so strange. I was studying on a journalism course which I found out wasn’t for me and decided university was the next option. I’m so glad that I made that choice, I have made the most amazing friends and memories and in a few months time I’ll have a degree!

One bit of coursework I handed in this term.

For now though, I’m having a break from essay writing to help my family decorate our Christmas tree. It’s been up in the living room for a few days but I asked my Dad to wait before decorating for when I got home. Whether you’ve just finished your term at university or you’re finishing this week, find the time to relax a little and enjoy the festivities. After all it is Christmas so you’re allowed to have a little fun!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this mini catch-up and enjoyed seeing some of the memories I made during this term! Who’s excited for Christmas, just ten days to go! As you’ll be able to tell from my other Blogmas posts, I’m very festive already!
