Hello lovely readers, I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed some time in the sun, I know I certainly did. I’m back today to talk to you about a few favourites of mine through the month of May, which went far too quickly for my liking.
1 Second Everyday App:
This one is a little unusual purely because it is an app and probably not what you would expect to be my number one favourite ‘thing’ of May.
Truth be told, I downloaded this app in December 2016 and started my video diary, documenting ‘1 Second Everyday’ everyday for 2017 and this year I am doing the same. Check out my ‘2017 Reflections’ post if you would like to watch my video for last year. (https://imogenchloe27.wordpress.com/2018/01/29/2017-reflections/)
The thing I love most about this app is that it allows you to capture one (or two) second updates each day for as long or as little as you wish. I capture one second each day and try and make it the most fun or important part of the day to me but there are always days where you are doing the same thing and that’s okay. The month of May was very different for the app as the team decided to do a challenge where they gave people a word or phrase and the user had to document that ‘thing’ as their one second.
The hints were anything from ‘Colour’ to ‘Sunset’ or ‘Capture Your Favourite Sound’. I did the challenge alongside my normal month so that I could still keep my video diary personal to me. I honestly love the app so much and it is the best £5 I have ever spent as now I have memories for life which I would otherwise have forgotten.
Check out my challenge month of May below and let me know if you will download it too and start your own video! So many of my friends have already!
Pale Blue Ditsy Floral Midi Dress by Newlook:
My next favourite for the month of May is actually one which I bought in May but wore for the first time yesterday. I went for a lovely lunch in Hyde Park and the sun was shining all day so I thought it would be a perfect time to wear this dress.
The floaty material means that it is the perfect thing to wear when the weather is warmer, it is not too heavy either so really the only thing you need to worry about if you’re like me is making sure you don’t burn with all your skin exposed (I didn’t, yay).
I paired it with my light blue converse so that I could comfortably walk around the park. I’m normally not one to wear dresses, I prefer to wear shorts in summer, but this one made me feel good so I made sure I got the photos to show it off.
Link here for anyone else who wants to get the dress.
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman:
My third and final favourite for the month of May is this book and although I am only a couple of chapters in so far I am already thoroughly enjoying it.
I’ve seen so many people reading and enjoying this book I had to finally jump on the bandwagon and join them and I am so pleased that I did. I can’t say much for now but now I’ve finished uni for the year I am hoping to read a lot more and this is the first book I’ve started with.
Let me know if the comments below if you have read this book and your thoughts but please, no spoilers!
‘Eleanor Oliphant leads a simple life. She wears the same clothes to work every day, eats the same meal deal for lunch every day and buys the same two bottles of vodka to drink every weekend.
Eleanor Oliphant is happy. Nothing is missing from her carefully timetabled existence. Except, sometimes, everything…’
Hope you’ve enjoyed my May favourites!
